Grand Theft Auto V’s Trevor Phillips, brilliantly portrayed by Steven Ogg, is a fan favorite. Surprisingly, Ogg isn’t excited about the next installment in the series because he doesn’t play video games himself (according to Mein-MMO).
Books instead of games
YouTuber Harrison Shipp briefly chatted with actor Ogg and asked him about the upcoming release of *GTA VI*. Ogg’s response was unexpected.
I feel nothing inside. I’m not a gamer, I have never played any video game.
It seems Ogg never actually played *GTA V*, despite being a prominent voice and face in the game. He confessed he’d rather read books than play video games, even though people encouraged him to try it.
Someone suggested I play *GTA 5* yesterday, saying it was amazing. I replied that they should try reading Dostoevsky’s *Crime and Punishment* sometime, and they clearly had no idea what I was talking about. I’m really passionate about books.
The upcoming launch of *GTA VI* is expected to be massive for gamers, but it’s understandable that those outside the gaming community aren’t very interested. Still, a recent statement by Ogg sparked a lot of different reactions online. Some people assumed it was a playful comment, while others simply couldn’t understand why the actor didn’t seem to care.
This must be a joke.
It’s just how things go – he saw an opportunity and took it. What surprises me is that you’d walk away from something you contributed so much to.
Trevor hating video games is the most Trevor thing ever.
The highly anticipated game *GTA VI* is currently scheduled to launch on May 26th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but a reliable source suggests another delay is possible. Meanwhile, Rockstar Games is reportedly preparing to unveil a new project called ROME, intended to succeed the popular *FiveM* modding platform.
