Sydney Sweeney had a very successful year, with several films scheduled for release in 2025, the start of production on Euphoria Season 3, and rumors of a new relationship with Scooter Braun. She celebrated by dressing up as a dragon for a *Shrekthemed party – a fun way to cap off a great year!
Well, that’s not what I would have expected, but here we are. Sydney Sweeney and her pals went all out for a Shrek Friendsgiving, with the Christy star playing the role of Dragon (a sexy version, naturally), which you can see by scrolling through her Instagram compilation of holiday week festivities:

It’s fantastic when a friend group really commits to a themed party, and choosing Shrek was brilliant – it’s a fun movie everyone can enjoy, not just for Halloween!
The whole cast of characters from the Shrek movies made an appearance, including Fiona, Lord Farquaad, Puss in Boots, Pinocchio, Robin Hood, the Magic Mirror, the Three Blind Mice, and Donkey (with Dragon close by!). There was even what might be the cutest baby ogre ever!
It’s clear a lot of effort went into making the details accurate, though a few weren’t quite right – I don’t recall Donkey being so much bigger than Dragon in the films. They also had fun touches like a Shrek cardboard cutout for photos and a sign welcoming visitors to Far Far Away.
I was also really impressed by the friend who came dressed as the Gingerbread Man and actually hopped around on one leg – especially when someone was filming! It was funny to see. Though plenty of gingerbread cookies were available for everyone, they were left perfectly intact so Sydney Sweeney and her friends could playfully ‘torture’ the person in the costume.
This seems like a really enjoyable way to spend the Thanksgiving holiday, and it was likely much warmer than Sydney Sweeney’s waterskiing trip in near-freezing temperatures.
As 2025 approaches, it feels like Sydney Sweeney is everywhere! I’m really looking forward to seeing her in the movie version of The Housemaid this December, and it sounds like we’ll finally get season three of Euphoria in spring 2026. Plus, there are whispers – and some photos from August! – that she might even pop up in The Devil Wears Prada 2. It’s a busy time for her, but I’m definitely excited to see what she does next.
Even with a packed schedule, I’m sure she’ll find time to see Shrek 5 when it comes out in theaters in Summer 2027. Maybe she’ll even get to wear her dragon costume again! Until then, you can watch the original Shrek movie by subscribing to Peacock.
