Okay, so this is wild – apparently, someone modded Hytale so it can actually run other games inside of it! It’s crazy how talented some modders are, letting you play a game within a game. I never thought I’d see that!
Hytale’s early access version launched just last week to a huge audience, and the developers are already releasing updates to improve the experience. The modding community is also working quickly, creating new content and additions.
A 15-year-old player and modder, known as iamcxv711, has already impressed both players and the game developers. They’ve been doing some incredible things with the game, like successfully running older programs such as Windows 95 and even the classic game, Doom, within it.
What’s even more amazing is that players have found a way to play the game Hytale within the game itself – they’re calling it ‘Hytaleception’!
Hytale modder runs Hytale inside its own game
Playing Hytale within Hytale works just like you’d expect. A recent video on X shows the game running in a separate window while you continue playing the main game, all at the same time.

The early version of the game, sometimes called ‘mini Hytale,’ has some performance issues, but it’s still functional. Players can move around, access their inventory, and build with blocks, similar to the full game.
It’s amazing that a player achieved this feat so quickly – only five days after the game’s release! The official Hytale team was so impressed they even responded with a GIF showing their approval.

So, people kept asking me how I managed to get Windows 95 running inside the game. Honestly? It was surprisingly easier to set up than Windows 95 itself was back in the day! I know, sounds crazy, but it’s true.
To get it working with Windows 95, they had to significantly modify jPC to run without a monitor, which involved a lot of trial and error with the computer’s basic settings. Now, they’re using a special VNC program to connect to a computer running the game, and that setup also operates without a monitor.
It wasn’t surprising that something so original quickly became popular. People were impressed by the creator’s accomplishment, though some also responded with humor.
Someone playfully posted online, referencing a popular meme, ‘We heard you like Hytale, so we put Hytale in your Hytale, so you can Hytale while you Hytale.’ It’s a humorous way of expressing extreme enthusiasm for the game.
Meanwhile, another jokingly added: “We got Hytale² before GTA6.”
