Hytale Launches Today In Early Access

After a decade of work, the game Hytale was initially canceled by Riot Games six months ago. Fortunately, Hypixel, the game’s development team, was rescued by co-founder Simon Collins-Laflamme in November 2025. Now, Hytale is launching into early access today.

Hytale is launching on January 13th at 7 AM Pacific Time / 10 AM Eastern Time, as shown on the official website. Initially, the game will only be playable on PC, with Mac and Linux versions coming later.

Just so you know, Hytale won’t be released on Steam. To play, you’ll need to download the official Hytale Launcher directly.

There are three different versions of Hytale available for purchase.

Hytale Standard Edition

Price: $24

  • Voyager, Savanna, and Forest Guardian cosmetic sets, including the Forest Guardian Cape.

Hytale Supporter Edition

Price: $42

  • Includes everything from the Standard edition plus the Featherbound, Scavenger, and Arctic Scout sets, each with their capes, as well as the Knight Cape and Explorer Goggles.

Hytale Cursebreaker Founder’s Edition

Price: $84

  • All items and sets from both the Standard and Supporter editions, plus an additional four cosmetic sets (Hope of Gaia, Void Hero, Pop Star, Voidbearer) and two additional exclusive capes (Royal Emmissary, New Beginning).

Back in November, Collins-Laflamme explained he was pricing Hytale very affordably. He’s personally invested a lot to buy the game back and prepare it for early access, now leading a team of 50 people. He’s committed to his promise of fully supporting the game’s development and is taking a significant financial risk to do so.

Collins-Laflamme has asked fans to be patient, explaining that the game is still under development and has some bugs that need fixing. He also shared that the money from preorders will fund the game’s development for the next two years.

Hypixel let mod developers into the game early so they could prepare Hytale modifications for release on January 13th. Players will be able to find these creations on Curseforge.
