Hytale is now available in early access, surprisingly soon after its development was initially stopped by Riot Games. The game’s creator, Hypixel, has openly stated that it’s still a work in progress and contains some bugs. To help make Hytale secure, Hypixel is offering rewards of up to $25,000 to players who discover and report significant security flaws.
The development team shared on X that player and community safety is their main concern. They’ve already rewarded bug hunters and are actively addressing issues as they’re reported.
Besides establishing a base rate of $25,000, the message also explains that payments could exceed this amount depending on how serious the problems are that are found.
As a huge Hytale fan, I’m really impressed with how the developers are handling security! They’ve given a big shout-out to all the researchers helping them keep the game and our community safe, which is awesome. They’ve already started rewarding people for finding issues – they’ve paid out bounties already! – and are actively working on fixing everything that’s reported. Apparently, the rewards can be over $25,000 depending on the issue, which is a fantastic way to encourage everyone to help make Hytale the best it can be.

You can find full details about Hytale’s bug bounty program on the game’s official website. Keep in mind there are a few rules: only players 18 and older will receive payment for reported bugs, and you’ll need to own a copy of Hytale to take part.
As a huge Hytale fan, I was so bummed when Riot Games canceled it, but I was thrilled to hear it was being brought back to life by Simon Collins-Laflamme, one of the founders of Hypixel, back in November 2025! It’s amazing – over 400,000 people have already tuned in to watch it on Twitch, and that’s even more impressive because it didn’t launch on Steam. We’re all hoping it’ll come to consoles eventually, but it looks like a Steam release might not happen.
