How To Suppress Enemies With An LMG In Battlefield 6

Battlefield 6 lets you unlock a wide range of weapons and gear by completing challenges found in the game’s main menu. Some of these challenges are easy – like getting kills with powerful weapons – but others are surprisingly hard to figure out. A particularly tricky one involves using Light Machine Guns (LMGs) to ‘suppress’ enemies, as required by a challenge in the Weapon section.

This task doesn’t offer much guidance, so it can be tricky to figure out. Luckily, our guide will help you through it.

What is suppression in Battlefield 6?

The word “suppress” might be confusing in this challenge. Battlefield 6 doesn’t explain what it means, so only players familiar with previous games in the series will likely understand it.

In Battlefield 6, “suppression” happens when bullets land very close to you. While you won’t be hurt by the near misses, suppression will halt your health recovery. Your health won’t start regenerating again until the suppression stops.

You’ll realize you’re under fire and being suppressed if you notice small “woosh” icons appear slightly to the left of the center of your screen. This means enemy bullets are flying close enough to affect you. On the other hand, you’ll know you’re successfully suppressing an enemy when the message “Enemy Suppression” appears on your screen after you fire.

The suppression mechanic in Battlefield 6 is really powerful when used strategically. But focusing only on suppressing enemies to complete a challenge can be quite difficult.

How to suppress enemies in Battlefield 6

Okay, so here’s the tricky part of this challenge. The screenshot shows I need to suppress enemies 300 times using a Light Machine Gun. Basically, in Battlefield 6, I have to grab any LMG and just spray at enemies, but not actually hit them – it’s all about getting that suppression effect 300 times! It’s harder than it sounds, honestly.

It might seem strange, but to complete this challenge, you have to miss some shots. When it comes to suppression, the key thing to remember is that you suppress an enemy simply by shooting at them from within a five-meter radius – it doesn’t matter which direction.

Hitting an enemy directly with a bullet doesn’t qualify as a suppressing shot – you actually need to miss. However, any shot that lands within five meters to the side or above an enemy will count as suppression. You don’t need a direct line of sight either; shooting at cover near enemies will also count as suppressing fire, as long as the bullets pass within five meters of them.

To easily finish the “Bullet Storm” challenge in Battlefield 6, play Breakthrough mode. It’s best to be on the defending team, because you’ll stay in one area and won’t need to move around as much.

When playing Breakthrough, find a strong defensive position with a clear view of where enemies are likely to move. Equip your LMG with a large magazine, a scope with moderate zoom, and FMJ bullets to penetrate cover. Focus on firing near enemies to suppress them, rather than trying for direct hits. If you dedicate enough time and effort, you’ll gradually improve and go from firing zero suppressed shots to 300. Completing this challenge, and also hitting enemies with LMGs while hip-firing, will reward you with the KTS100 MK8 LMG – a reliable weapon in Battlefield 6. Though it’s good, we believe another LMG is even better and one of the top weapons in the game.
