As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to share my appreciation for Sean Murray and his tireless team at Hello Games. They’ve breathed new life into No Man’s Sky, transforming it like a phoenix rising from the ashes. But they didn’t stop there – this game continues to evolve, even nine years after its initial release!
Remarkably, despite focusing on another project, Light no Fire, they haven’t let up on their commitment to NMS. They’ve been pouring their love into it, enhancing the experience with regular, free updates. The latest one, Worlds Part 2, brings even more diversity, technology, and gameplay elements.
If you’re eager to explore these new additions across the galaxy, let me guide you through starting the new quest, finding gas giants, and discovering other new planets in purple star systems.
Starting Worlds Part 2 questline in NMS explained
Before Expedition 17 Titan officially arrives, enthusiasts are already searching for hints on starting it and details about the latest spacecraft – The Wraith. Since we’ve got a little more time until its launch, let’s delve into the updated parts of the universe from the World Part 2 update instead. To embark on this new journey, though, there are some prerequisites you need to meet first:
- Completing Atlas and Artemis Paths,
- Finishing Autophage questline (starting with They who returned mission).
Once you’ve finished these tasks, you should now have the chance to stumble upon a mystifying entity during system transitions. It’s quite conspicuous – a spherical mechanical construct with a lavender tint. Engage with it to initiate the new mission called “In Stellar Multitudes”.
Finding gas giants and purple star systems in NMS
To reach the newly introduced gas giants, you should progress through the main questline until you unlock Atlas Station. From there, you can build your own violet star system. The arrangement of planets in this system will vary based on the choices you make regarding memory, and it’s possible that one of these configurations may include gas giants.
After completing the primary mission and obtaining the Atlantid Drive, you’ll gain the ability to journey to a new system colored purple. Don’t fret if the current world isn’t a gas giant, as you’ll eventually unlock additional ones upon finishing the main questline. Rest assured, one of these expansions will certainly include your desired destination.
Patience is key when uncovering new content. Over time, as you accomplish your mission tasks, you’ll gradually reveal all the sights that are waiting for you. Enjoy the journey!
