This weekend, you can try out ARC Raiders, the new extraction shooter from the creators of The Finals, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world ruled by ARC, a dangerous mechanical force. If you’re interested in playing the ARC Raiders Server Slam Open Test but aren’t sure how, we’ve put together a guide to help you get started.

How Do You Play the ARC Raiders Server Slam Open Test?

You can try the ARC Raiders Server Slam Open Test for free on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (through Steam and the Epic Games Store) for a limited time. Just add the “Server Slam Open Test” to your cart – it’s free! You don’t need to buy ARC Raiders beforehand to participate.

Any progress you make in the Open Test won’t be transferred to the full game. However, if you link your Embark ID, you’ll get a special Server Slammer Backpack.

The ARC Raiders Server Slam Open Test will run from Friday, October 17th, 2025, to Sunday, October 19th, 2025.

What to expect in ARC Raiders Server Slam Open Test

ARC Raiders is a type of shooter game where you drop into an area with a limited time to find valuable items and then escape. While that’s the basic idea, the game itself has more complex mechanics.

This game combines player-versus-player and player-versus-environment combat. You’ll face both other players, who will try to take your hard-earned rewards, and dangerous robotic enemies. Luckily, you can team up with up to two friends before venturing out, but playing alone is also an option.

In the upcoming Open Test, you’ll get a first look at The Dam Battlegrounds, the map that will be available when the game officially launches. While playing, watch out for dynamic events like Electromagnetic Storms and Night Raids that will change the battlefield.

As you play, you’ll interact with the Traders of Speranza. They’ll give you quests that help you learn more about the game’s world. You can buy new equipment, sell things you don’t need, and complete these quests to make your character stronger. The Open Test will have a few initial quests, and even more challenging ones will be available when the game officially launches.

Just so you know, when I’m trying to get out of the Rust Belt, it’s not just other players I have to worry about – there are these ARC Robots everywhere! They come in all shapes and sizes. You’ve got the little guys like Wasps and Ticks that are super annoying, and then these big, tough robots like Bastions and Leapers. Basically, you really need to be ready for a fight from all directions!

It’s not always a good idea to attack, as it could alert nearby Automated Response Centers. If your team is running low on health or supplies, it’s often better to focus on escaping or regrouping.

During the Server Slam, you’ll also have access to:

  • Early-to-mid tier equipment, including weapons and gear
  • Blueprints to upgrade your Raider’s abilities, weapons, and gear. Not all will be available during the test.
  • The Raider Deck (one page of items)
  • The Workshop (for crafting weapons, equipment, medical items) – No Upgrades available during the test.

While playing, you’ll encounter short objectives called Feats. Each day brings a new set of tasks – like defeating enemies or collecting specific items – and completing these earns you Cred. You can then spend your Cred to unlock rewards in the Raider Decks.

In Helldivers II, Raider Decks work a lot like Warbonds, or Catalogs in Outlast Trials. They’re all about unlocking everything a Deck has to offer. Some Decks are free to progress through, while others are only available for a limited time or require purchase.

ARC Raiders will have even more to do when it officially launches compared to the upcoming Server Slam test. Here’s what won’t be available during the test:

  • Projects (Expeditions) – Long term mission that essentially enables you to prestige with some benefits
  • Trials – Challenge for seasoned players
  • Codex – Archive of information
