How To Play Hytale: Editions, Price, And Specs

Okay, so after years of waiting, Hytale is finally in early access! It’s not the finished product yet, definitely still pretty basic in some ways, but honestly, there’s already a ton to do – I’ve easily sunk dozens of hours into it. And the best part? They’re letting us use mods right from the start, which just adds a whole other level to the game!

Hypixel’s developers expect more than a million players to try out the early access version of Hytale. But since the game isn’t on Steam or consoles, getting started requires a bit of know-how. How do you actually begin playing?

How to download Hytale

Like Minecraft for computers, Hytale has its own launcher that you need to download and use to play. You can get the launcher from the official Hytale website, and it works on Windows, Mac, and Linux computers.

After downloading and opening the game launcher, you’ll need to sign in with an existing account or create a new one. If you choose to create a new account, you’ll be directed to the Hytale website where you can sign up using your email, Discord, or other connected apps. Once your account is created, simply return to the launcher and sign in – you’re all set for now!

How to buy Hytale

Once the launcher is ready, you’ll need to buy Hytale to play. It’s not a free game, because the developers at Hypixel are a small, independent team who need money from game sales to continue working on it.

Okay, so if you want to get Hytale, head back to the official website. You’ll see a blue “Pre-Purchase” button up at the top right – click that. From there, you can pick one of three different versions of the game. They all cost different amounts and come with their own unique perks, so check them out to see which one’s best for you!

Standard ($19.99)

  • Forest Guardian Set
  • Voyager Set
  • Savanna Scout Set
  • Exclusive Standard Cape

Supporter ($34.99)

  • Everything included in Standard
  • Featherbound Set
  • Scavenger Set
  • Arctic Scout Set

Cursebreaker ($69.99)

  • Everything included in Standard and Supporter
  • Hope of Gaia Set
  • Void Hero Set
  • Pop Star Set
  • Voidbearer Set

Choosing the right version of Hytale depends on what you’re looking for. Because the game is still in early access, you should expect some bugs, incomplete features, and changes as the developers continue to work on it. But, the game will constantly improve with regular updates, new official content, and additions from the modding community.
