In Arc Raiders, you’ll explore maps, gather loot, and fight to return safely to Speranza. Finding the right item in a container can make all the effort worthwhile, so it’s frustrating when you encounter a locked Security Breach locker. You never know what valuable gear might be inside! While opening these lockers takes a bit of work, here’s a guide to help you do it.
How to open Security Breach lockers in Arc Raiders
To open lockers in Security Breach, you’ll first need to unlock the “Security Breach” skill in the skill tree. You can find the skill tree by choosing Raider > Skill Tree while you’re in Speranza.

The Security Breach skill is the last one you can unlock on the right side of the skill tree, within the Survival (red) path. It requires a significant 36 points invested into that path to unlock. We’ll discuss whether it’s a worthwhile investment later on.

After you buy the Security Breach skill – likely using your 37th skill point in the Survival tree – you can open any Security Breach locker you find. You’ll also be able to search lockers that other players have already opened, though they probably won’t have much left inside.
Is the Security Breach skill worth it?
Okay, so when Security Breach first came out, it was a total game-changer. Those lockers you could open with it were constantly dropping awesome purple weapons – Bobcats, Tempests, even Vulcanos! But the developers, Embark, quickly realized it was too good and lowered the drop rate. Now I’m seriously wondering if sinking 37 skill points into the Survival tree for it is even worth it anymore. Is it still a good investment, or should I focus on something else?

Even though purple weapons are rarer with the Security Breach skill, it’s still a worthwhile investment. It’s a great way to quickly gather useful resources while exploring, often providing green or blue weapons, ammo, and parts. Plus, you still have a chance of finding a powerful purple weapon, so it’s always worth checking those lockers.
The Survival skill line offers useful abilities like faster looting, increased carrying capacity, and the ability to craft items in the game. Because of this, investing in these skills doesn’t feel like a detour when you’re focusing on reaching the Security Breach path.
