Okay, so if you’re just starting out in this game, you’re going to need to collect a few key materials. Three of the big ones are Calcium, Titanium, and the one I want to talk about today: Wolfram Ore. Seriously, you need this stuff. It’s used to make the most basic building blocks, so if you want to survive, you’ll be spending a lot of time gathering Wolfram Ore!

Gather Wolfram From Chunks and Meteorites
Early in the game, you’ll mainly find Wolfram Ore by gathering it from resource chunks and meteorites. While these methods don’t yield large amounts, they’re great for getting started and building your base.
Meteorites are often surrounded by pieces of ore on the ground. Wolfram Ore is easily recognizable because of its reddish color, making it different from other nearby resources.
You’ll usually find about five Wolfram Ore resources when mining Wolfram Ore chunks. You can also obtain Wolfram Ore by collecting it from meteorites.
You can identify Wolfram Ore on meteorites by its reddish color. Most meteorites will contain at least some amount of it.
You can usually get about eight Wolfram Ore from each meteorite, which is really helpful when you’re first starting the game. Just remember you’ll need to find other sources of it as you progress.
Obtain Wolfram Ore From Veins
The most reliable way to obtain Wolfram Ore is by mining it from veins. These veins contain a limitless supply of ore, allowing you to farm them continuously.
You can gather Wolfram Ore using a resource collector, which typically yields 10 to 15 ore per collection. Alternatively, you can construct an Ore Excavator. This building is available early in the game and, when placed on a Wolfram vein and linked to your base with drones, automatically collects the ore.
Once everything is set up and connected, you’ll need to power the excavator to start collecting Wolfram Ore. After that, you can link the excavator to things like storage, the smelter, the fabricator, and other buildings.

Wolfram Ore is a highly valuable resource in StarRupture with many applications. Primarily, it’s combined with Titanium to create Basic Building Material.

Basic Building Material is essential for creating the initial structures of your base. Additionally, Wolfram Ore is processed into items like Wolfram Bars, which are then used to create more advanced components such as Wolfram Wire, Plates, and Stators.
Wolfram Ore is essential for improving your standing with the different corporations in the game. Initially, you’ll just need to submit the ore itself, but eventually you’ll need to craft specific items from it to continue leveling up those factions.
