How to get the Reaper Crest in Silksong

In Hollow Knight: Silksong, the Reaper Crest is a significant enhancement for Hornet. This upgrade fundamentally changes Hornet’s attack methods and gameplay style.

Alongside increasing Hornet’s ability to inflict greater damage with each regular attack (at the cost of slower attack pace), the Reaper Crest endows her with a capacity to produce more Silk from vanquished foes. This empowerment enables Hornet to recuperate and employ Silk skills more frequently due to the surplus Silk generated.

In order to secure the upgrade, you’ll initially need to make your way to Greymoor. Here’s a guide on how to obtain the Reaper Crest:

1. Follow the marked path leading to Greymoor from your current location.
2. Engage in various quests and battles along the way to progress towards Greymoor.
3. Once you reach Greymoor, look for specific NPCs or locations where the Reaper Crest may be obtained.
4. Complete any necessary tasks or challenges required to claim the Reaper Crest.

Where to find the Reaper Crest

The Emblem of the Grim Reaper can be acquired from within the Reaper’s Church in Greymoor. But let me tell you, it’s not a straightforward process to secure its improvement – it’s not as easy as just strolling in and picking up your prize.

To get to the Crest, you’ll initially have to pass through the Chapel and overcome a battle test waiting at its conclusion. Notice that the Chapel’s entrypoint is pinpointed on the map of Greymoor provided below.

As a gamer, if I’m ever struggling to locate the Chapel in Greymoor without my map, I can always head back to Bone Bottom. There, I can buy the map from Shakra using Rosary Beads, or find her hanging out on the East side of Greymoor. If I need a quick way back to Bone Bottom, there’s a Bellway almost directly East of the Chapel, as indicated on the map. Hope this helps!

Navigate your way through the Reaper Chapel, which is a rather compact and primarily straight labyrinth, by continually following the Eastern wall as you descend its platforms. Continue this pathway until you encounter a winding staircase that spirals in a counterclockwise direction and leads back towards the chapel’s entrance.

In the last chamber, you’ll find yourself facing a sequence of progressively challenging opponents. Overcome them all, and the final door will unlock, granting access to the inner sanctum where you’ll receive the Reaper Crest as your prize.

The standard Crest Hornet initially offers one yellow, red, and blue tool slot. Similarly, the Reaper Crest is equipped with a single yellow, red, and blue tool slot, with additional slots of each color obtainable through the application of upgrade materials.

Beyond causing extra damage and producing silk, the Reaper Crest alters Hornet’s diagonal dive into a more vertical air assault. This adjustment makes it simpler to bounce off red bulbs and other rebound surfaces.
