It can mutate your plants in a way that makes your fruit super valuable, and it even gives you a bonus with your eggs. Honestly, it’s one of the best pets in the game!

It’s only given out during special events, and even then, it’s super rare – no guarantees you’ll get one each week. How to get the Chicken Zombie in Grow A Garden

Okay, so as a Grow A Garden player, here’s the deal with Chicken Zombies: you can only get them during those special Admin Abuse events. Basically, about an hour before a new update drops, the admins like to mess around and test things. They’ll add cool, limited-time weather effects and, best of all, they give us awesome restocks! I’m talking about those super rare seeds from Sam, better eggs from the egg vendor, and even Levelup Lollipops from the Gear Shop. It’s a fun little bonus before the big update!

The Chicken Zombie was last given to players on October 4, 2025, during the first part of the Double Admin Abuse event. The second part of the event also included the rare Junkbot pet. When you receive a Chicken Zombie, it will appear as a free pet and be accompanied by a message from the game admins announcing they are giving them to all players currently online.

What does the Grow A Garden Chicken Zombie do?

You can keep this creature as a pet, letting it roam your garden, gain experience, and eat fruit. But its most interesting feature is its two special abilities. The first works with the ‘Grow A Garden’ feature: every 29 minutes, there’s a 21% chance your pet will turn a fruit into a ‘Zombified’ version, which makes that plant produce 25 times more!

During Admin Abuse events, a special weather pattern called Jandel Zombie can cause your fruits to become infected. If infected fruits also have the Plagued mutation, their combined effect multiplies your gains by 102x. Adding the Radioactive mutation on top of that creates the Biohazard mutation, boosting gains even further to 157x. Plus, the Chicken Zombie can speed up egg hatching by 10.41%, which is great if you’re trying to quickly hatch a lot of critters to get a rare pet.
