October started strong with the release of Battlefield 6, but the end of the month proved there’s still room for other exciting games. ARC Raiders, a new game from Embark Studios, offers a unique take on the extraction shooter genre, set in a post-apocalyptic world. The game involves completing missions – like ‘Diggin Up Dirt’ and ‘Echoes of Victory Ridge’ – to uncover the story behind the world, but you’ll also spend a lot of time searching for items to improve your base and unlock new features. We’ve already shared tips on finding items like the Dog Collar and Synthesized Fuel, and now we’ll show you how to easily get Motor – a key component for upgrading your Refiner.
Getting Motor in ARC Raiders easily
Okay, so in a lot of post-apocalyptic games, you spend a bunch of time scavenging stuff left behind by people who came before you, right? ARC Raiders is the same way – you’re constantly collecting things to get stronger and unlock cool new gear. I was trying to upgrade my Refiner to level 3, and I ran into a real snag trying to find Motors. Seriously, where do you even find these things?
The first thing you’ll notice is that items labeled as “Mechanical” have a small cogwheel icon next to them. This means you should prioritize exploring and searching areas on the map that also have this icon. We recommend checking out two specific spots – they’re a bit hidden and less likely to be looted by other players.
- Freight containers in the Primary Facility on Dam Battlegrounds (they are in the big hall).
- Broken-down cars in the Parking Garage on Buried City.
Getting a few Motors from those areas, plus ARC Circuitries and Bombardier Cells, will help you upgrade your Refiner.
When you’re exploring the world in ARC Raiders, don’t rush to recycle everything you find. Many items can be really helpful for building and improving your base. Plus, keep in mind that future updates will likely add even more items and give existing ones new uses. It’s worth holding onto things, as Embark Studios reportedly has a lot of new content planned for the game in the coming months.
You can play this game by yourself, but it’s more fun and effective with others. If you’d like to team up, check out the official ARC Raiders Discord server to find players to explore the planet with!
