Unlike most games, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection doesn’t use traditional money. Instead, you earn Trade Points and exchange them for items at the Melynx Emporium.

How To Get More Trade Points
You can get trade points by finishing quests or collecting trade items. Quests eventually end, but you can continuously find trade items in the game world – from the environment or by defeating monsters.
You’ll mainly earn points by collecting items from gathering spots and defeating monsters, because different items give you different amounts of Trade Points. Certain monsters related to Side Stories also drop Trade Tickets, and finding Poogies will give you both Trade Points and Trade Tickets.
You can break open Therabees to get Therabeads – those orange shapes you see floating in the air. You can either fly right into them or attack them with your breath. Regular Therabeads give you Bronze Trade Points, and bigger ones give you Gold Trade Points.
Saving Barrel Felynes rewards you with Pawprint Stamps, which give Gold Trade Points too.
How To Defeat Barrel Felynes
If you’re looking to earn extra Trade Points by defeating Barrel Felynes, be aware that they can be annoying opponents. They don’t take much damage and will usually run away after just a few turns.
If you’re trying to find and defeat Barrel Felynes, or if you see one during a hunt, switch your battle buddy to Kora. She’ll instantly use Launch Bomb, which will destroy all Barrel Felynes in the area.
The most effective way to beat them is with damaging items like throwing knives or a Big Barrel Bomb. Great Barrel Felynes are tougher to defeat, but they give you more Trade Points as a reward.
Even knives such as Sleep Knife are useful because they deal 25 damage with each hit, even if they don’t inflict the sleep condition.
