How To Get Mega Scrafty In Pokémon Legends: Z-A

In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Mega Scrafty stands out as one of the most powerful Mega Evolutions you can add to your team. Its unique Dark and Fighting-type pairing gives it a significant edge in battles against other trainers, but you’ll need a specific item to unlock its full potential.

Scrafty first appeared in the Pokémon Black and White games, which were released in the fifth generation. In Legends: Z-A, while some Pokémon like Falinks and Drampa can Mega Evolve from their already evolved forms, Mega Scrafty requires you to evolve a Scrafty from its base form first. Only the fully evolved Scrafty can Mega Evolve, so you’ll need to start with the right Pokémon to use this ability.

Where To Catch Scrafty In Pokémon Legends: Z-A (Scrafty Location)

Investigate Hidden Locations Within The City

Scraggy, the base form of Scrafty, can be found in the wild areas of Lumiose City. However, it’s much harder to catch than other Pokémon because it rarely appears – mostly hidden away in the City’s Sewers.

If you can’t locate a Scraggy in the sewers, you might find one in a dark alley at night, though they don’t appear very often and are among the Pokémon that come out at night. Because of how the day and night cycle works in Legends: Z-A, it can be tricky to figure out where Scraggy prefers to hang out after dark.

You can’t reach the Lumiose Sewers until you’re quite far into the main story (Mission 19). If you want a Scraggy, it’s a good idea to search the city’s alleyways at night. Scraggy is a tough Pokémon to catch because it has strong defenses, so be ready to act fast when you encounter one!

As a fan, I’ve learned that if you’ve got a Scraggy on your team, it won’t become a Scrafty until it hits Level 39! That’s pretty high, so you’ll need to battle and work hard to get it there. I don’t think I’ll have a Scrafty until I’m pretty far into Legends: Z-A, but even then, there will still be tough challenges ahead!

If you’re hoping to find a Scrafty later in the game, you can also find its evolved form appearing in Wild Zone 20, which is the endgame area of the City. This is also where you’ll encounter other rare Pokémon, including the other starter Pokémon in Legends: Z-A.

How To Get Scraftinite In Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Purchase The Right Mega Stone With Specific Currency

To evolve Scrafty into Mega Scrafty, you need to use the Scraftinite Mega Stone during a battle. You won’t receive Scraftinite as a gift; it’s an item you have to find in the game. Luckily, once you unlock the Quasartico Inc. Headquarters building, you can easily buy Scraftinite there.

Okay, so I just found out how to get Scraftinite, and it’s actually pretty easy! You buy it at the Quasartico Inc. Headquarters store for 240 Mega Shards, which is way cheaper than a lot of the other Mega Stones. Mega Shards aren’t like regular money in Legends: Z-A – you find them all over Lumiose City! Seriously, there are pink clusters everywhere you can break open, so you can farm up enough to get Scraftinite without too much trouble. It’s a great deal!

You can break Mega Shard clusters quickly using moves that don’t have long recharge times, like Bullet Punch, Quick Attack, or Aqua Jet. While you might occasionally get Mega Shards from battling trainers in Legends: Z-A, using a powerful move that hits a large area is the best way to shatter clusters and collect a lot of Shards.

Once you obtain a Scraftinite, simply equip it to your Mega Bracelet before a battle. Then, when your Scrafty enters the battle, you can use the Scraftinite to Mega Evolve it, which greatly boosts its stats. Here’s what Mega Scrafty is like after evolving:

  • HP = 65
  • Attack = 130
  • Special Attack = 55
  • Defense = 135
  • Special Defense = 135
  • Speed = 68

Mega Scrafty is a strong Pokémon with a total stat of 588, particularly excelling in Defense and Special Defense. This allows it to perform well against certain opponents. It’s even more effective when it can resist specific attack types, and its impressive 130 Attack stat lets it quickly defeat rivals with physical attacks. Despite being aggressive, Mega Scrafty is surprisingly durable, making it a valuable asset to any team.

Although this Dark/Fighting-type Pokémon might not be for everyone right away, its powerful potential can be a real asset in tough battles against trainers. In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, completing the collection of all Mega Pokémon is a key goal for many players, and Mega Scrafty stands out as a brand-new addition to the series.
