In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, obtaining Mega Garchomp can be a really effective tactic. This powerful Mega Evolution is strong enough to help you progress far in the game, partly due to its special type combination. Mega Garchomp returns as a Mega Evolution in this Generation 9 game, and it remains a popular choice, even with the introduction of new favorites like Mega Greninja, Mega Delphox, and Mega Chesnaught.
Okay, so Garchomp was already a beast back in the Gen 4 games, being a pseudo-legendary and all. But its Mega Evolution? Seriously takes it to another level! It’s way stronger, both when attacking and defending. Honestly, Mega Garchomp is one of the best Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The best part? I was able to unlock it pretty early on in the game, and it didn’t take a ton of work or completing a bunch of quests. Super convenient!
Where To Catch Garchomp In Pokémon Legends: Z-A (Gible Location)
Explore An Early-Game Wild Zone To Find Gible

To use Mega Garchomp in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you’ll first need to catch a Gible. You can find Gible relatively early in the game within Wild Zone 8. This area becomes available after completing the tenth Main Mission, and it’s located west of Jaune Sector 1.
Gible can be found in holes throughout the area, but it’s rarer than Drilbur. You might need to spend some time running around and battling Drilbur to make Gible appear. Luckily, Gible is an aggressive Pokémon and will attack you when it sees you, which means it’s less likely to run away, making it easier to catch.
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, this Pokémon can be found at any time of day in the Wild Zone 8. Once you catch Gible, you’ll need to raise its level to 24 to evolve it into Gabite, and then to level 48 for it to become Garchomp.
How To Get Garchompite In Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Purchase Garchomp’s Mega Stone After Main Mission 10

To get Mega Garchomp, you’ll first need to find Garchompite, which is the Mega Stone for Garchomp. You can buy it at the Stone Emporium for 70,000 Pokémon Dollars after finishing Main Mission 10. This means you’ll need to learn about Mega Evolution and get the Mega Stone for your starter Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A before you can catch Gible and purchase Garchompite.
Once you obtain a Garchompite and give it to your Garchomp, you can Mega Evolve it when your Mega Energy is full. This powerful form, with its strong Ground-type attacks, will be a great asset in battles, helping you defeat tough opponents like Canari and Grisham in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
