How to Get Honeycomb in Starsand Island

Starsand Island is full of materials and items to discover, though some are harder to find than others. Many of these items can be sold for a good profit.

Honeycomb can be frustrating to collect in the game. It’s hard to find, and you only get a small amount each time.

You can find a good amount of honeycomb on Starsand Island, though it might take a bit of exploring to collect it all.

Where to Find Honeycomb

You can find honeycomb in a few spots on Starsand Island, usually inside beehives that are hanging from the trees.

Two locations seem to have a more likely chance of having beehives spawn in the trees. These are:

  • Near the temple to the southwest of Cloudrest Lake.
  • Windflute Island

We’ve found beehives in a few places around the island, but they’re not common. It’s a good idea to do a complete circuit of the island when you’re looking for them.

If you find a beehive, use your axe to cut down the tree it’s in. The beehive will then fall to the ground where you can reach it.

Don’t worry, this isn’t like Animal Crossing – the bees won’t sting you! Simply approach the beehive and interact with it to gather the items inside.

Beehives are commonly found in Banyan Trees and White Fig trees. You can chop down Banyan Trees with the Impact Axe, but you’ll need the Machete to cut down White Figs. Both the Axe and Machete blueprints are available for purchase at the town shop.

Typically, each beehive yields one honeycomb. We’ve also consistently found a bee inside every beehive we’ve checked.

It’s crucial to remember you shouldn’t try to dislodge a beehive from a tree. We’ve tried things like slingshots and bows, but the only way to get the hive down safely is to cut down the tree with an axe.

What is Honeycomb Used For?

With Honeycomb, you can create your own beehives on your farm. You’ll unlock the instructions for building them by becoming an Intermediate Rancher at Green Pasture Ranch – just complete Pastelle’s quests to reach that level.

When you reach rancher level, you’ll instantly get the recipe for building a beehive. To craft one, you’ll need hardwood planks, honeycomb, and iron sheets. Unlike bows, you won’t need any Carbon Line to make it.

Okay, so I finally built a beehive, and it’s awesome! Now I can put all the bees I’ve been collecting into it. From there, I can actually make honey, which is amazing. And if I’m lucky enough to have a queen bee, the hive will also produce Royal Jelly! It’s a really cool way to use all those hives I’ve found.
