How to Get Calcium in StarRupture

Survival games often require you to gather lots of different items. Figuring out what each item is for can be time-consuming and add to the challenge of simply staying alive.

In StarRupture, as with many survival games, you start with a few core materials that you’ll use to craft almost everything. Calcium, for example, is a fundamental resource – gathering it and improving your base will be a major step forward.

Let’s break down how you can get Calcium in StarRupture, and what this material is used to create.

Collect Calcium From Meteors

At the start of StarRupture, you’ll be able to gather a few key resources, including Titanium, Wolfram, Helium, and the one we’ll focus on here: Calcium.

You can find Calcium in StarRupture in a couple of ways. One way is to break apart meteors, which you’ll see throughout the game world.

Early in the game, meteors are a great source of materials for almost everything you’ll need to build. While you won’t find calcium on the surface of a meteor, destroying one will automatically give you some.

Breaking open a meteor usually gives you around 30 Calcium. You can also find other items like Meteorite Hearts inside. If Calcium is visible on the meteor’s surface, it looks like a white piece.

Find Calcium Chunks

You can also get Calcium early in the game by using your collector to pick it up from the ground. Like Calcium found in meteors, it will appear as white chunks.

Okay, so when I smash those Calcium chunks, I usually get about 10 Calcium Ore out of them. The tricky part is they’re pretty rare to find, and when I do find them, they’re almost always close to where meteors have landed.

Harvest Calcium Deposits

You can obtain Calcium by mining Calcium Deposits. These deposits, along with those of other minerals, can be accessed using an Ore Excavator.

Calcium appears as bright white deposits that stand out from the surrounding environment. You can gather Calcium from these deposits using your resource collector until you get the Ore Excavator.

After getting the Ore Excavator, you can set it up over an ore deposit, connect it to a rail line, and then use drones to automatically collect the ore, which simplifies the whole process.

What is Calcium Used For?

Calcium is a key ingredient in several building materials, such as calcium blocks and calcite sheets.

Once you’ve upgraded your Smelter, you can start making Calcium Blocks. You’ll need two Calcium for each block, and they’re used for construction and to help you progress with the various corporations in the game.

After building the Fabricator, you can turn Calcium Blocks into Calcite Sheets. You’ll need one Calcium Block for each sheet. Calcite Sheets are a building material used to create different items around your base, helping you stay alive.
