As a dedicated viewer myself, I must admit that it remains the undisputed king when it comes to free video content. A while back, they unveiled a fresh feature called Shorts, a response to similar content popping up elsewhere on the web.
How to Fix YouTube shorts playing audio twice
As a gamer juggling multiple responsibilities, every moment counts. Sometimes, I only have a fleeting chance to catch a quick video before diving back into action. Short clips on platforms like TikTok or YouTube are perfect for such instances. However, recently, I’ve encountered an issue with YouTube Shorts that’s been causing quite a stir among users. The problem is this: Whenever I open a new tab with a video, the audio plays not once, but twice. I can’t help but wonder, why is this happening?
The answer is adblock. No one likes advertising, so many people have installed plugins to block them. Of course, it is not ideal for creators (and websites), for whom it is one of the sources of income. However, we can’t deny facts. In the case of the recent YouTube problem, addblock is the culprit. It seems that YouTube and the plugin do not work well together and the result is a double audio in shorts. The easiest way to fix it is to turn off the adblock, at least for the time of scrolling through shorts.
Indeed, you could alternatively simply press pause on the video. In fact, these videos are designed to be brief, so taking a moment to wait before resuming playback will work just fine. Plus, you’ll remain within the same tab and this action should prevent any issues with double audio playing.
