Preparing for the fight with Savage Beastfly
To access your supervisor, you’ll initially have to enhance the Drifter’s Cloak, enabling you to glide. You’ll find this item at the conclusion of the Far Fields region. Additionally, it would be advantageous to learn the Thread Storm ability at Greymoor’s eastern edge, which is directly above Far Fields. This ability targets a wide area, making it useful for handling summoned enemies by the boss. As an alternative, you could opt for the Sting Shard tool, purchasable from Forge Daughter in Deep Docks instead.
Before engaging in combat, locate the solitary bench positioned high up in the tall, eastward vertical chamber within Hunter’s March – a long, linear structure. This specific bench serves as a trap; upon seating, a massive blade descends. If you perish while this bench remains inactive, you’ll need to traverse the entire expanse of Hunter’s March before every subsequent attempt on the boss. To evade this lethal trap, breach the deceptive western wall within the room housing the bench and neutralize the mechanism, transforming the deadly apparatus into a harmless bench for your use.
How to defeat Savage Beastfly?
The Savage Beastfly is an opponent that can be quite foreseeable, yet poses a significant challenge due to its massive hitbox and high damage output. Notably, it primarily employs two major attacks – a charging move horizontally across the arena and another vertically from above. While these moves are identifiable and in theory avoidable (jumping over the horizontal charge and moving away from the vertical one), the boss’s rapid movement and expansive size make it tricky to steer clear, making collisions quite likely.
In this clash, the secret is staying patient – striking the boss repeatedly at a time could lead to trouble. When the boss performs a horizontal charge, you can leap over him and strike downward upon bouncing off. If he initiates a vertical charge (he might perform up to three charges consecutively), attack him only once when he stops. Sometimes, he may also growl and lower cages filled with enemies from the ceiling – keep an eye out for sand falling from the ceiling so the cages don’t land on your head.
It’s advisable to take care of all enemies before confronting the boss again. As an alternative tactic, you could entice the boss to eliminate enemies for you by guiding him towards one during a vertical charge; when he does so, he will swiftly crush any enemy beneath him. If healing is necessary, do it while the boss is charging at a wall or dropping opponents into the arena (ensure that you’re not positioned under the falling cage).
Rewards for defeating Savage Beastfly
Following your victory over the formidable Beastfly, you may move forward into the subsequent chamber, whereupon you’ll encounter the Beast Crest. Here lies a specialized playstyle for Hornet, emphasizing offense. This alteration discards healing abilities in favor of fury, during which Hornet extracts health from adversaries by engaging them in combat.
