How to defeat Last Judge?
In the two-part battle against Last Judge, it’s crucial to avoid getting pinned in a tight spot. The boss’s attacks reach far and it moves swiftly, so being cornered would limit your ability to evade. Always keep an eye on the surroundings, and if you find yourself nearing the arena’s edge, either leap over or duck under the boss to create more open space for maneuvering.
Initially, during the battle, the boss exhibits three distinct attacks. To dodge air attacks, simply go beneath the boss or step back slightly. When the boss lifts his flail above his back, be ready as this indicates an upcoming long throw. The boss inflicts damage only from the tip of his weapon, not the chain – approach the boss, allow him to hurl the flail, deliver a few strikes, then leap before he retrieves it back into his grip. Once the boss begins spinning the flail, multiple spinning attacks will follow shortly – retreat swiftly. In dire situations, you can also block a pirouette by rapidly pressing the attack button; with some fortune, you may successfully parry all the blows.
During this phase, the boss’s attacks gain a fiery boost. Watch out for the flail spins which produce waves of fire; stay clear of the embers to predict where the flames will erupt. If he hurls the flail, it detonates at impact, causing an explosion – keep a safe distance and leap if needed. Once he performs his air attack, the floor ignites – retreat or duck beneath the boss and jump quickly. Lastly, be wary of his new move: he’ll crouch, charge up, then leap towards you. Jump over him to dodge and sidestep one of the ensuing fire pillars.
In summary, The Last Judge has a weakness that allows for numerous chances to attack and gather silk. To capitalize on this vulnerability, we recommend using either the Hunter, Beast, or Wanderer class, as they have faster attack speeds than Crest Reaper. Each of his attacks inflicts two damage points, making healing essential. After dodging or creating distance, be sure to heal yourself. If you are in good health and possess an abundance of silk, use the Silkspear spell for ranged assault. Lastly, consider purchasing the Magma Bell accessory from the Forge Daughter in Deep Docks, as it can reduce fire damage received.
During the second phase, The Last Judge frequently launches a fiery spinning attack. As his health nears depletion, he may repeatedly use this attack. Here’s an important tip: When the boss perishes, try to get as far from him as you can because shortly after, he will explode, causing damage up to three times over a wide area. If the explosion defeats you, you’ll have to restart the fight. Once defeated, access to the Citadel will be granted, marking the beginning of the second act.
