How To Complete The Land Of Gold Encounter In Where Winds Meet

The Jade Gate Pass region in Where Winds Meet is a particularly difficult place to settle, as residents are always facing challenges finding enough water.

Many people travel to Hexi hoping to find forgotten treasures, and you’ll encounter some of them during the Land of Gold Encounter. This guide will walk you through starting the quest, helping Granny Yang, and locating the ledger.

How To Start Land Of Gold

You’ll find this quest automatically when you get near the Poplar Bazaar Boundary Stone, which is located in the western part of Jade Gate Pass in Hexi. Once the quest appears in your log, talk to Granny Yang to start it.

Land Of Gold Walkthrough

To begin the quest, talk to Granny Yang, then collect water from the well. After that, find Granny Yang again – she’ll be on the opposite side of the well.

To help her recover, first use Wind Sense to find out where she’s hurt. Then, you can either use Quick Treatment or play the healing minigame yourself. Once she’s healed, follow her to the deserted town.

After that, talk to the merchants who are arguing, then challenge Shi Hedan to a battle of wits. Once you win, speak to Shi Hedan and the merchants again. Finally, get information by speaking one-on-one with Granny Yang, Kang Mingluo, and Shi Hedan.

Go north to find the Poplar Leaf Ledger. Look for Wei Xuan, then jump down the hole in the broken wooden platform to get it. Once you have the ledger, bring it back to Kang Mingluo.

Head to the abandoned town and follow the markers on your screen to collect information. After you’ve found everything, bring it back to Kang Mingluo.

Head towards the quest marker. Once there, you’ll need to climb the tall poplar tree using a combination of triple jumps and wall runs to reach the top branch. Look for platforms along the way where you can rest and recharge your stamina.

Okay, so I climbed the tree and opened that Old Worn-Out Box up there. Inside, I grabbed Kang’s fourth journal. As soon as I finished reading it, I was instantly teleported back to Kang Mingluo and the rest of the group. Pretty neat!

Once you’ve talked to everyone, follow Granny Yang and then check the old, dry well. After that, just finish any remaining conversations, and you’ll complete the quest.
