After a long wait, EA has released the newest installment in the Skate skateboarding series! This revamped version of the game is currently available in early access and lets players explore the open world of San Vansterdam, pulling off tricks and connecting with friends. If you’re planning to play with others, here’s what you need to know about cross-play and whether your progress carries over between different platforms.
Skate cross-play: How to add friends
Good news for players who want to connect with friends on different devices – Skate lets you play with people on any platform! Cross-play is automatically enabled, but you’ll need to follow a few simple steps to connect with friends who aren’t playing on the same system as you.
- Open the Hub menu
- Select Social & Spectate
- Select Search
- Search using your friend’s username or ID
- Select your friend’s name and choose ”Add EA Friend”
Your friend will get an invite that they need to accept. If you’ve received a friend request this way, you can find and accept it in the ‘Requests’ section of the ‘Social & Spectate’ menu.
After you and a friend connect as EA friends, you can start playing online together, no matter what gaming platform you each use.
Does Skate have cross-progression?
Great news keeps coming! Skate now lets you easily continue your progress no matter which platform you play on. Start playing on one device, switch to another, and your save data will follow. You won’t lose any progress, so feel free to switch back and forth and enjoy skating in San Vansterdam wherever you are!
