As an avid fan who’s spent countless hours in the realm of Wraeclast, I must say that Path of Exile 2 has proven to be a worthy successor. Despite its early access status, it’s brimming with content that could easily consume hundreds of hours of your gaming life.
Even though it’s still in early access, Path of Exile 2 is jam-packed with content. The main storyline, side bosses, and an endless endgame ensure that you’re getting a lot for your money if you join during early access. Some players might even find hundreds of hours of gameplay just from the initial content in Path of Exile 2.
If you’re wondering about the time commitment required to complete Path of Exile 2 from start to finish, here’s the breakdown: duration to beat the game, timeframe to reach the endgame, and a comprehensive quest log for tracking your advancement.
How long to beat Path of Exile 2
In essence, as Path of Exile 2 is an Action Role-Playing Game (ARPG), there’s no definitive “win” condition. Instead, these types of games typically feature a main storyline that leads to an endgame phase. The endgame is tailored to your preferences and time commitment, allowing you to engage in post-campaign content with any character for as long as desired.
To put it another way, conquering Path of Exile 2 is essentially advancing to the endgame and surpassing all the campaign stages. During its early access phase, you’ll need to move through three acts to reach the endgame. However, this number will increase to six once the game is fully released.
As a gaming enthusiast, I must share my experience: Simply completing the three acts doesn’t lead you to the final battle. Firstly, you need to conquer the three acts on normal mode, which advances you to level 45. Then, you have to replay Acts 1-3 on the difficult setting of Cruel to ultimately reach the endgame. This journey should see your character around level 65 at the finish line.
In Path of Exile 2, it is expected that completing the three acts for the first time might take approximately 25 hours or so. After that, you’ll need another 15 to 20 hours to go through the acts again at Cruel difficulty. This means it will take between 40 and 50 hours per character to reach the endgame.
In Path of Exile 2, if you desire to play a different character class, you’ll find yourself needing to go through the same initial process once more. This translates to an additional 40-50 hours of gameplay to reach the endgame for that specific character.
In the thrilling realm of Path of Exile 2, once I’ve reached the endgame, the world opens up like a treasure trove. I can freely spend my time, exploring and bonding with any character as I delve into the endgame content. However, since the max level in the early access phase is capped at 100, it might not be wise to push beyond that level just yet.
