MegaPixel Studio’s developer team and Forever Entertainment have unveiled a fresh trailer for their upcoming remake, titled The House of the Dead 2. This thrilling revamp is scheduled to drop in Spring 2025, available on PC, PlayStation consoles, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox platforms.
The game unfolds in the year 2000, exactly two years following the events of its predecessor. This timeframe sees monsters dominating a compact urban area. The protagonists, either James Taylor or Gary Stewart, are undercover agents tasked with discovering the cause behind this monster invasion. Additionally, players have the option to collaborate and play together in the cooperative mode.
Beyond the main gameplay, there’s an additional Boss Rush mode where players can test themselves against the game’s bosses in a race to finish as quickly as possible. The training mode offers an opportunity for players to practice and improve their skills across various situations before diving into a mission. Plus, there are several different endings and levels that branch off, allowing you to choose between the original soundtrack or its remastered version while playing.
Originating from Sega back in 1996, “House of the Dead” is a chilling rail-shooter game series that has since been updated, with the first game receiving a remake as recently as 2022. The original version of House of the Dead 2 debuted in arcades in 1998, and later found its way onto numerous other platforms like Dreamcast, PC, Xbox, and Wii.
