Horizon ‘clone’ Light of Motiram delisted from all storefronts following lawsuit end

So, the lawsuit between Sony and Tencent over that game, Light of Motiram – which a lot of people thought was too similar to Horizon Forbidden West – is finally over. It looks like the game’s just been pulled from all the online stores as part of the settlement. It’s a bit sad to see it go, but I guess that’s how things had to be.

The Horizon games, created by Sony, follow Aloy, a brave red-haired woman, as she journeys through a stunning world where nature and technology have blended together. The series has become incredibly popular, captivating players with its vast environments and original concepts.

When I first saw Light of Motiram, I immediately noticed something familiar. It features a young, red-haired heroine exploring a world filled with machines based on animals, and a lot of us fans quickly pointed out how similar it looked to other games with that kind of concept!

When initial trailers and images appeared online, people immediately started pointing out similarities. This led to Sony suing Tencent, beginning a long and complicated legal fight. Now, that case has finally concluded.

Light of Moriram removed from storefronts amid settlement

Sony and Tencent have resolved their lawsuit regarding the game Light of Motiram with a private agreement, as first reported by The Game Post.

The court statement reads:

Okay, so basically, the lawsuit between Sony and Tencent is officially over. We all know these companies sometimes get into legal battles, and this was one of those. Both sides have agreed to drop everything – all the motions and claims – and it’s all finished for good. The deal is that everyone pays their own legal bills, and that’s it. Good news for gamers, I guess – less legal stuff, more games!

As a big fan, I’ve been following the situation with Light of Motiram closely. While the details of what happened aren’t public – it sounds like they reached a settlement – I can confirm the game has been completely pulled from sale. It’s gone from Steam, the Epic Games Store, and anywhere else you could pre-order or wishlist it. It’s really disappointing, and I’m hoping for some clarity soon.

Tencent hasn’t publicly commented on the agreement or its implications for the project’s future.
