Homelander’s Biggest Enemy Revealed & It’s Not The Boys

Going into Season 5 of The Boys, everything has changed. Homelander is no longer just the biggest threat – he’s firmly in charge. However, he’s not invulnerable, and his greatest challenge might come from someone close to him.

Who is Homelander’s biggest enemy in The Boys Season 5?

By the end of Season 4, Homelander has finally achieved the power he always wanted. He’s in charge of Vought, has the President under his influence, and leads a larger group of super-powered individuals who are now operating legally. Meanwhile, The Boys, who used to be his main opponents, are now the ones being pursued.

Homelander’s growing influence isn’t accidental. Sister Sage, portrayed by Susan Heyward, is the key strategist behind his victories. Her sharp intellect and foresight make her incredibly valuable – and a potential threat. While they currently work together, Sister Sage is quickly becoming Homelander’s biggest adversary in Season 5 of The Boys. Unlike others, her power doesn’t come from physical strength or abilities, but from her fearless and calculating mind, according to Heyward.

In an interview with ScreenRant, actress Claudia Doumit, who plays Sister Sage, explained that her character is uniquely unafraid of Homelander. While she still wants to survive, Doumit said that at the start of season four, Sister Sage has accepted her fate and isn’t afraid to take risks. She’s fully engaged in the power struggles and has nothing left to lose.

Sister Sage, played by Susan Heyward, is different from characters like Billy Butcher – she doesn’t rely on physical strength. According to Heyward, this makes her a potentially dangerous opponent for Homelander. She explained that Sister Sage’s composure comes from having a clear plan and understanding her goals, and from having already achieved more than anyone expected of her, even if it means risking a fatal attack.

As she perfectly stated, “We’ll just have to wait and see.” The fifth season of The Boys will premiere on April 8th.
