Next month marks the return of the 2025 El Dorado Film Festival. Spanning from February 26th to March 2nd, this year’s festival will take place at the South Arkansas Arts Center (SAAC), which can be found at 110 East 5th Street in El Dorado, Arkansas. Tickets for the event are now available and can be bought either online or at the SAAC box office.
Since 2014, the EDFF has been showcasing an assortment of independent movies from various parts of the world. This includes narrative and documentary features, as well as short films. A Special Opening Night Event – 40th Anniversary Screening of “Fright Night” Featuring El Dorado Native William Ragsdale
At 8 PM on February 26th, the SAAC theater is set to present a special 40th anniversary showing of “Fright Night”. The actor who portrays Charley Brewster, William Ragsdale, will kick off the event by introducing the movie and later partake in a question-and-answer session following the screening.
Alexander Jeffery, EDFF Executive Director, shares that William Ragsdale has been an influential figure for many actors and filmmakers hailing from El Dorado throughout the years. He explains that when he discovered that 2025 signified the 40th anniversary of William’s enduring success in Fright Night, it became clear to him why this year’s festival should begin by honoring him and his accomplishments over the decades.
