‘Hollywood Squares’ to Get a Week-Long Daytime Stunt on CBS

CBS is seizing an empty afternoon slot during prime time hours to showcase their new gaming show “Hollywood Squares,” which stars Drew Barrymore in the center square. Starting from Monday, January 27th through Friday, January 31st, at 2 p.m. Eastern Time, 1 p.m. Central and Pacific Time, this week-long daytime showcase will take place, filling the timeslot previously occupied by “The Talk,” which concluded its run in December.

Currently, “The Price Is Right” reruns are being aired on CBS in that time slot, serving as a temporary stand-in for upcoming soap opera “Beyond the Gates”, which premieres on February 24. During this gap, CBS is using the opportunity to attract more viewers towards “Hollywood Squares”. The network will broadcast repeats of the show’s initial four episodes throughout the week, with Friday’s episodes being identical to those shown on Monday.

Starting from January 29th, I’ve noticed a change in CBS’s game night schedule. Instead of airing “Hollywood Squares” at 10 p.m. ET as initially planned, it’s now moving to an earlier slot at 8 p.m. ET. On the same evening, you can catch “The Price Is Right at Night” at 9 p.m. ET and “Raid the Cage” at 10 p.m. ET.

Television personality Nate Burleson, who works as an NFL analyst and co-hosts “CBS Mornings,” now hosts the classic game show “Hollywood Squares.” This updated version of the show features famous personalities answering trivia questions with a humorous twist. Jesse Collins (through Jesse Collins Entertainment) and Barbra Streisand’s production company, Flower Films, are behind this modern take on “Hollywood Squares.” The game show previously aired during daytime hours from 1998 to 2004 with Tom Bergeron as the host.
