After a temporary halt last week due to the destructive wildfires, manufacturing activities are gradually resuming in Los Angeles.
On Monday, productions for TV series like “NCIS,” “NCIS: Origins,” “Poppa’s House,” and “The Neighborhood” are planned to resume. Insider sources report that these shows will be filmed on enclosed sound stages under constant supervision from health and safety experts. In the event that any cast or crew members are affected by the fires or find it difficult to reach the set, they will continue to receive their usual wages.
Similarly, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on ABC resumes filming this week, following a hiatus due to the fires. On the other hand, the CBS late-night show “After Midnight” will postpone recording on Monday and Tuesday.
It’s unclear at this point whether any of the shows that halted production last week will start filming again soon. Among those impacted were “Hacks” on NBCUniversal, “Suits: LA,” “Ted,” and “Loot,” as well as “Fallout” Season 2 on Amazon.

We’ll have to wait and see if any of the shows that stopped filming last week will continue production in the near future. Included in this group were “Hacks” from NBCUniversal, “Suits: LA,” “Ted,” “Loot,” and Amazon’s “Fallout” Season 2.
Los Angeles has recently experienced another significant setback in its physical production sector. Over the past few years, COVID-19 lockdowns, screenwriter and actor strikes, as well as the bursting of the streaming bubble, have collectively led to a decrease in the overall number of productions taking place.
Over the past week, numerous fires have erupted throughout the Greater Los Angeles region. These blazes started under extremely arid conditions and powerful Santa Ana winds, enabling them to spread rapidly, causing mass evacuations of around 50,000 residents. As I write this, the Palisades fire has consumed over 23 square miles, and the Eaton fire has torched approximately 14 square miles. Forecasters predict additional strong winds to affect Los Angeles and Ventura counties later in the week, potentially sparking new fires and adding difficulties for firefighters managing current situations.
