Hollow Knight: Silksong’s New Patch Finally Nerfs The Muckmaggots

A frequent criticism of Hollow Knight: Silksong is its challenging difficulty. While Team Cherry released a PC patch to make the game easier, the latest update takes it a step further by reducing the difficulty of the particularly frustrating Muckmaggots found in Bilewater and the Putrified Ducts.

Previously, Muckmaggots could freely eat Hornet’s silk, and players had to use their limited silk supply to restrain them. Now, the update makes it simpler to defeat Muckmaggots using the Wreath of Purity, which allows Hornet to heal herself if bound a second time.

The Chinese translation for Silksong has been improved with help from a fan translation team called Team Cart Fit. Team Cherry, the game’s developer, was very impressed with the new translation, noting its deep understanding of the story and background details from both Hollow Knight games. They thanked the team for allowing them to use it. The previous Chinese translation received criticism from native speakers, which led to negative reviews of the game.

This update also fixes a couple of issues and improves the experience. Couriers will no longer deliver packages repeatedly in a row, and more controllers will now be compatible with the game’s rumble feature. On the other hand, the Gurr the Outcast boss fight will be slightly more challenging, as he’ll remain stationary for a shorter period.

Right now, the newest update is just for people playing on PCs, but console players of Silksong will receive it soon. You can find a full list of changes below.
