Hollow Knight: Silksong is a challenging game, but that hasn’t deterred players from trying to complete it as quickly as possible, and one player recently set a new speedrunning record.
Players have found the boss fights in the game, released on September 4th, to be very difficult. The challenges were so intense that Team Cherry quickly released an update to make some of the hardest bosses a little easier.
Although many players are just getting used to the game, the speedrunning community has quickly discovered ways to play it at an incredible pace, setting new records. Recently, a well-known speedrunner achieved another world record.
New Silksong Any% world record set by Blue Goes Fast
Speedrunner Blue Goes Fast has set a new world record for completing the game Hollow Knight: Silksong as quickly as possible, finishing in just 1 hour, 3 minutes, and 41 seconds.
Someone uploaded a video of their game run to YouTube, and it was quickly determined to be the fastest time anyone had ever achieved.
It’s remarkable that the previous world record, also set by Blue, was 1:08:15. The five-minute improvement highlights how rapidly players are mastering the game in its early stages, refining their skills in areas like movement, battling bosses, and gathering resources.
Blue shared on X (formerly Twitter) that they achieved a new world record in the “Silksong” speedrunning category called “Any%”, completing the game in just 1:03:41. They expressed excitement and pride in the run, calling the game fantastic to speedrun. Blue also hinted they’re aiming to break the one-hour mark soon.
It’s amazing how quickly this record was achieved, almost as impressive as the record itself. Considering Silksong was only released on September 4th, meaning it’s been out for less than two weeks, setting a world record this soon is a remarkable accomplishment.
But it doesn’t look like they’re stopping there, as we could be seeing sub-1-hour runs pretty soon.
