It’s been a difficult few months for HGTV watchers. Over the summer, the network canceled seven shows that had a lot of dedicated fans, including series featuring well-known personalities like Christina Haack, Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson, Tarek El Moussa, and Alison Victoria. These cancellations, happening in 2025, have upset millions of viewers, but there’s now some positive news, especially for those who enjoy House Hunters.
After Cancellations, What’s The Good News For HGTV Fans?
HGTV hasn’t always kept every show on the air forever, but a recent string of high-profile cancellations over a few days this summer really upset viewers. It made fans worry about the future of their favorite real estate shows, and even prompted popular hosts like Jonathan Scott and Ty Pennington to use social media to confirm their shows were still secure.
Good news for HGTV fans! Not only are popular shows like those featuring Ben and Erin Napier, and Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt, continuing or getting new versions, but the network is also launching a big lineup of fresh programming. This includes 50 episodes of new shows, plus a large number of additional installments of the long-running hit, House Hunters.
4 New HGTV Shows Have Been Announced
The cable network just announced four new shows, including a new series from the popular Property Brothers franchise. The upcoming shows are World’s Bargain Dream Homes, Neighborhood Watch, Botched Homes, and Property Brothers: Under Pressure. These shows are expected to premiere in 2026, and the first seasons will bring a total of 50 new episodes to viewers.
World’s Bargain Dream Homes follows people searching for beautiful, affordable homes in amazing locations around the world, offering incredible savings. Each of the 12 episodes will showcase these properties. Meanwhile, Neighborhood Watch features funny and strange moments captured on home security cameras – everything from nanny cams to doorbell cameras – and the first season includes 16 episodes.
As a total home renovation show addict, I’m really excited about a new series called Botched Homes. It follows contractor Charlie Kawas and his team as they fix the messes left by bad contractors and disastrous DIY attempts – basically, they’re giving people safe and beautiful homes again. And if that wasn’t enough, the Scott Brothers are back with a 14-episode run of Property Brothers: Under Pressure. This time, they’re walking clients through every step of buying a house, from the first search to designing a dream home that’s both gorgeous and practical. It sounds like a rollercoaster of emotions, and I’m here for it!
House Hunters Is Getting Hundreds Of New Episodes
That’s already great news for fans of HGTV, giving them plenty of new shows to watch after some recent cancellations. But the biggest win is for those who love House Hunters. The network just announced a whopping 400 new episodes will air through 2026, keeping the popular series on the air for even longer.
Plus, the rest of the 2025 TV lineup will include both brand new shows and returning favorites, along with specials like Fixer to Fabulous, Cheap A$$ Beach Houses, Hoarding for the Holidays, My Lottery Dream Home and My Lottery Dream Home: David’s Happy Ending, and White House Christmas 2025. While it’s disappointing that shows like Bargain Block and Farmhouse Fixer are gone, there will still be plenty of fresh content to enjoy!
