The release date for Borderlands 4 is approaching quickly, and if you’d like to gear up for the event, you can grab a complimentary weapon skin by creating an account on Gearbox Shift.
Anyone with a Shift account, be it current users or newcomers, can now obtain the Hazard Pay weapon skin. To get this skin, players must create an account (if they haven’t already) or log in to their existing one and register to receive newsletters and promotional materials electronically.
Players must associate their Shift account with their preferred Borderlands 4 platform. Once this linking process is complete, logging into the connected Shift account within the game should grant the skin (Gearbox advises players to be patient as it may take up to a week to receive in-game items). This free skin offer lasts until December 31, marking the end of the year.
Gearbox advises players to watch for extra Shift codes in their Borderlands-themed email communications, which they can use to claim even more prizes!
In simple terms, “Borderlands 4” is set to launch on September 12. This game will enable multiplayer functionality across different platforms; however, it won’t allow for cross-progression. As per Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, a launch-day update for Borderlands 4 has been planned to enhance the performance of the loot-shooter game.
In reaction to Destructoid’s review expressing doubts about the game’s performance on PC due to some technical glitches, possibly caused by a faulty power supply unit, Pitchford affirmed that the patch significantly improves the game’s performance. The author of the preview has since reported that most graphical issues they encountered have been rectified.
According to the plan revealed by Gearbox, the timeline for Borderlands 4 from late 2025 through early 2026 will be filled with fresh events, downloadable content packs, and exciting additions. In the forthcoming months, players can expect new areas, mission stories, and an extra playable character known as a Vault Hunter, which is expected to launch in early 2026.
