Here Is What’s Next For Battlefield 6 In 2026

With the holidays approaching, the team behind the next Battlefield game (Battlefield 6) has given fans a preview of what they can look forward to in the game’s multiplayer and a new battle royale mode called Redsec, planned for release in 2026.

The developer announced they’ll be focusing on improving the main gameplay, fixing imbalances, and making general improvements to multiplayer, Redsec, and Portal.

So, like with most Battlefield games, they’re planning new maps and weapons for Battlefield 6 as time goes on. The developers said they want to add stuff that actually changes how you play and keeps things interesting, not just throw in random content.

Players had a general idea of what to expect, and during Season 1, Battlefield 6 added three multiplayer maps, a variety of new vehicles, weapons, and customization options. This content was released in three stages, and future seasons may use a similar release schedule.

The developer also mentioned the game’s free-to-play Redsec battle royale mode. Many players have asked for a solo playlist, and the studio knows this is something the community wants. They are currently working on adding a solo option for those who prefer to play alone.

The team is still finalizing the technical aspects to ensure the update meets Battlefield’s quality standards. We’ll share more details about the plan and release date as soon as we’re certain everything is ready.

I was blown away by the stats the developers shared for Battlefield 6! Apparently, in 2025, players jumped into over 1.7 billion matches and spent a massive 383.5 million hours playing. Can you believe that led to 12.4 billion kills and 871 million revives? It’s cool to see how everyone plays too – Engineer was the most popular class with 28% of players using it, but Support was right behind at 27%, then Assault at 26%. Recon was the least picked class, used by 19% of us.

Battlefield 6 recently concluded its first season with the Winter Offensive update. The update had a bumpy start, prompting the developers at Battlefield Studios to quickly release several fixes and improvements for all players.

So far in 2025, Battlefield 6 is the best-selling game in the US, surpassing Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which is now seventh on the sales chart.
