Night Hunter continues to dominate on Paramount+

Henry Cavill’s series, Night Hunter, is a big hit for Paramount+, consistently ranking among its most popular shows as of late December.

By December 25, 2025, the crime thriller had become one of the top five most-watched movies on the streaming service, earning a global score of 108 (according to Flix Patrol). This shows a significant jump in popularity long after it was first released.

In the 2018 film, Henry Cavill plays Detective Walter Marshall, who heads a police task force investigating kidnappings linked to someone operating online. The case takes a surprising twist when they quickly arrest a suspect, Simon Stulls.

The investigation is starting to suggest Simon’s crimes could be much more extensive than first thought. As detectives dig deeper, Marshall and his team find themselves facing a challenging psychological game while following up on new clues.

Night Hunter stars Ben Kingsley as Michael Cooper, Alexandra Daddario as Rachel Chase, Stanley Tucci as Commissioner Harper, and Brendan Fletcher as Simon Stulls. The film, which runs for 98 minutes, was both written and directed by David Raymond.

Although “Night Hunter” is finding an audience now through streaming, it wasn’t successful when it was first released. In 2018, the movie went straight to video-on-demand and didn’t attract much attention, despite featuring a well-known cast. Reviews at the time were also mostly unfavorable.

Rotten Tomatoes reports that critics gave the film a 14% rating, based on 37 reviews. Audiences, however, were more positive, giving it a 51% rating. In a review for Keith & the Movies, Keith Garlington noted the film had an intriguing concept but didn’t fully develop it, ultimately feeling unoriginal and predictable because it relied too heavily on ideas from other movies.
