Following the exciting reveal of Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, the developers have released a new gameplay trailer and shared important news for existing Hell Let Loose players.
The latest trailer offers a glimpse into the intense fighting of the Vietnam War, showing the conflict from different sides. It highlights how Hell Let Loose: Vietnam aims to realistically portray the many complexities of this difficult Cold War battle.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam will not only offer typical infantry combat, but also simulate the complexities of coordinating different military units – like tanks and artillery – within the varied and scenic Vietnamese landscapes.
New Game, New Engine, Old Support

The latest trailer for Hell Let Loose: Vietnam showcases the game’s stunning visuals, even amidst the chaos of war. Using Unreal Engine 5, the trailer depicts surprisingly beautiful jungle landscapes as American and Vietnamese soldiers fight.
The difficult landscape of Vietnam greatly impacted the war’s outcome, and it’s important to acknowledge that environment’s significant role.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam aims to be the most realistic Vietnam War experience ever created in a video game, taking players through jungles, villages, and cities.
The complete game is expected to launch in 2026. However, the developers will still update and support the current version of Hell Let Loose. A big, free update recently improved the game significantly.
Hell Let Loose Brings Combined Arms in Vietnam
Players can use transport and attack helicopters to experience authentic air cavalry combat. New pilots will quickly learn that effectively targeting and eliminating Vietnamese soldiers from the air is a significant challenge.
Next time you request helicopter support – whether it’s for an attack or a ride – use smoke to mark your location and give a clear description of where you are in relation to nearby landmarks. You’ll find things run much more smoothly.
Budding pilots might get a little humbled over how hard it is to get good effects […]
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam brings back the exciting river combat that hasn’t been well-executed since the classic Operation Game Warden map in Battlefield Vietnam.
U.S. river warfare in Vietnam built upon the experiences and tactics of the French naval assault units, known as the ‘Dinassaut’, that operated earlier in the conflict.
The difficult Vietnamese landscape made it challenging to transport troops and supplies by land, particularly due to frequent ambushes. As a result, French, South Vietnamese, and eventually American forces began using rivers to fight against guerrilla fighters.
In Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, players can use armed patrol boats with powerful machine guns to destroy enemy defenses and even take out troops hiding behind limited cover.
While the patrol boat is well-armed, it’s not invincible – it’s quite slow and lacks strong armor. A Vietnamese ambush, particularly using their heavier weapons, could easily disable the boat and harm the crew. Nothing in life is without its drawbacks.
The terrain the Vietnam War was fought upon was a major player in the outcome of the conflict […]
Throughout the period of French control in Indochina and the subsequent American involvement in the war, a clear pattern emerged: South Vietnamese forces consistently favored heavy weaponry and direct attacks, while North Vietnamese forces preferred lighter, more easily moved equipment.
During the Vietnam War, North Vietnamese soldiers generally avoided large, open battles. Instead, they relied on powerful weapons like heavy machine guns, rocket launchers that could be fired repeatedly, and hidden mortar positions to inflict serious damage on their enemies in South Vietnam.
This mobile military equipment gave Northern forces the ability to deliver overwhelming firepower across all of South Vietnam, making the entire country a potential battlefield.
However, it’s important to note that the North Vietnamese Army did use tanks – specifically, Soviet-made tanks – in several battles.
Although American soldiers will have access to comparable equipment, the extensive tunnel system is a defining characteristic of the North Vietnamese army and its supporters.
During the war, Vietnamese fighters heavily relied on tunnels to move secretly and outflank American and allied troops. These tunnels allowed them to approach from unexpected directions and also provided a way to escape when facing difficult combat situations.
U.S. troops will have the option to pursue combat within the tunnels, but venturing underground is extremely dangerous and significantly reduces one’s chances of a long life.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam will be available as a separate game in 2026 on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
