He-Man’s New 4-Part Series Officially Arrives This Summer Alongside the Live-Action Movie

Great news for He-Man fans! A four-part series is coming this summer to complement the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie in 2026, marking an exciting time for the franchise. If you’re looking forward to the movie, you won’t want to miss this new series.

Travis Knight is directing a new Masters of the Universe movie, scheduled to come out on June 5, 2026, and it’s already generating a lot of excitement. The film stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, Jared Leto as Skeletor, and Idris Elba as Man-At-Arms, bringing together a fantastic cast. And that’s not all for He-Man fans this summer! Dark Horse Comics is also releasing a four-part comic book series called He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Wings of Fate #1 that will connect directly to the movie’s storyline.

Everything You Need to Know About He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Wings of Fate

The first issue of the new comic book, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Wings of Fate, will be available in comic shops on June 10, 2026, and will cost $4.99. Tim Sheridan, who previously worked on Masters of the Universe: Revolution, wrote the series, and Will Sliney, known for his work on Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren, provided the artwork.

This comic stands out from Dark Horse’s other Masters of the Universe publications because it is set in the film universe of Masters of the Universe (2026). Readers can find issue #1’s full synopsis below:

After Skeletor attacked Eternos, a struggling refugee finds an injured falcon and takes it in. To save the bird’s life, he must travel through the dangerous Mystic Mountains and ask for help from the legendary people of Avion.

Since the comic book comes out just five days after the movie hits theaters, it’s best to watch the film first. Although it doesn’t directly say the comic contains spoilers, it focuses on what happens after Skeletor attacks Eternos, so you’ll likely encounter them if you read it without seeing the movie first.

It looks like Dark Horse Comics is treating He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Wings of Fate as a continuation of the story, not a backstory. This is exciting for fans of the movie, as the comic will pick up right where it left off.

The New Masters of the Universe Series Is in Capable Hands

Main Cover by Will Sliney for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Wings of Fate #2 (2026)

Okay, so alongside the buzz about the first issue of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: The Wings of Fate, Dark Horse Comics has given me a little preview of what’s coming in issue #2. I’ve got a look at the main cover – you can see it above – and they’ve also shared the official story synopsis, which I’ll be diving into shortly.

Our hero and their friends suddenly appear at the base of the Mystic Mountains, beginning their trek to the city of Avion, which is perched high in the distant peaks. They soon find a vehicle that could help them reach their destination faster, but they must first determine if the people inside are allies or enemies.

It’s fantastic that the movie is getting both a special one-off installment and a complete mini-series, proving this story is genuinely compelling and not just a commercial venture. Considering the positive reception to Tim Sheridan’s Masters of the Universe: Revolution – which League of Comic Geeks users rated as “Very Positive” – fans can be confident that this next chapter of Masters of the Universe is being handled expertly.
