Twitch streamer Hasan Piker has responded to online criticism by stating he did not use a shock collar on his dog, Kaya. The denial comes after a clip from his stream on October 7th went viral and led to public outcry.
The video shows Kaya walking behind Hasan and then suddenly yelping. Some people watching believe the sound came from an electronic collar used to prevent her from moving away from her designated sleeping area, which was visible on the live stream.
Multiple creators criticized Hasan over the clip.
Streamer Tectone accused Hasan of mistreating his dog during his broadcasts. Tectone claims Hasan uses a shock collar on a high setting, causing the dog to yelp in pain, and forces the dog to stay behind him on stream through fear rather than willingly. Tectone expressed strong disapproval of this alleged behavior, calling it disgusting and unacceptable.
I was always curious about how Hasan managed to keep his dog consistently behind him during his streams. It turns out he’s been using a shock collar on a very high setting, causing the dog to scream when it’s activated. He seems to be using the dog as a way to appear more approachable and relatable, but the reality is quite different. It’s really about the dog…

I just saw this clip of Hasan and it’s pretty upsetting. He used a shock collar on his dog for literally just stepping off the bed, and she yelped! It’s always struck me as weird how his puppy *never* moves around, and now I see why. It’s just awful to watch, and honestly, it really bothered me. Poor dog!
Streamer LosPollosTV strongly criticized Hasan Piker, using harsh language, for shocking his dog with a collar simply because the dog wanted to move around. LosPollosTV argued that the dog is a living creature, not just a prop for his stream, and called Piker’s actions cruel.
Hasan denies shock collar accusations
Hasan responded to criticism he was receiving in his live stream chat, dismissing the claims against him. He sarcastically stated, “Yes, I’m a terrible person – to the most well-behaved, well-trained, and pampered dog in the world.”
Hasan explained the yelp came from an accident, not the dog collar. He said, “The sound happened when Kaya accidentally hit herself on something while jumping off the bed.”
Hasan continues to deny claims that he used a shock collar on his dog, Kaya. He suggests the accusations are coming from people who dislike him, jokingly implying they’re making false claims out of spite. He sarcastically references a ‘lair’ and a ‘trap door’ to emphasize his disbelief.

He brought up the incident again later in the stream. He explained that he told her to move, and she cried out in pain as she got off the bed, having previously broken it. He believes someone is intentionally trying to cause problems, and thinks she either landed awkwardly or caught her foot on something while getting off.
Even though he denies it, many people still doubt him. Streamer Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel claims Hasan is manipulating everyone by making them question their own perceptions.
It’s frustrating to see something clearly happen on camera, and then have people try to deny it or claim it didn’t happen. It doesn’t make sense when there’s obvious proof.
People are asking Hasan to reveal the brand and model of the collar to prove the claims against him are false. As of now, he hasn’t responded publicly.
