Harry Potter star Tom Felton is extending his run as Draco Malfoy on Broadway

Fans of Harry Potter can now see Tom Felton reprise his role as Draco Malfoy on Broadway for a few extra months. He’ll be performing in ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ through November 1, 2026, extending his run at the Lyric Theatre in New York City beyond his originally scheduled departure date of March 22, 2026. He’s been with the production for 19 weeks so far.

If you’re planning to see Tom Felton on Broadway, please note he won’t be performing from May 11-31, August 17-23, September 14-20, and October 12-18, according to Variety.

It’s incredible to see Tom Felton returning to the world of Harry Potter on stage! He shared that being involved with the films was a huge honor, and this new role in ‘Cursed Child’ feels really special to him. He’ll actually be the same age as his character, Draco Malfoy, when he starts performing this fall – it’s a full-circle moment, and as a fan, it’s just amazing to see!

It feels strange and amazing to be playing him again – including his famous platinum blond hair! – and I’m excited to finish telling his story and share it with his wonderful fans. I’m also really looking forward to working with this fantastic team and being part of the Broadway scene, he said.

Tom Felton is the first actor from the Harry Potter movies to return to the story on Broadway, appearing in the play ‘Cursed Child.’ Written by Jack Thorne, based on a story by Thorne, J.K. Rowling, and John Tiffany, the play centers on Harry Potter’s son, Albus Severus, and his experiences at Hogwarts. Albus is sorted into Slytherin and struggles with the weight of his father’s fame, leading to conflict between them. The play follows Albus’s first four years at the school.

Given that ‘Cursed Child’ has consistently been the top-selling show on Broadway since Tom Felton joined the cast, it’s understandable why the producers wanted to keep him involved for as long as possible. The production has also become the most financially successful show ever to play at the Lyric Theatre, earning a record $3.7 million in a single week ending December 28, 2025.

Felton’s run as Draco Malfoy on Broadway will now end on November 1, 2026.
