In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Harrison Ford commended Troy Baker’s acting in the latest Indiana Jones game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. This title stood out as a notable release during Microsoft Gaming’s overview of their second quarter fiscal year summary. It is said that approximately four million players have given Indiana Jones and the Great Circle a try, although it remains uncertain whether this number represents purchased games or Game Pass users.
Harrison Ford praises Troy Baker’s performance in Indian Jones and the Great Circle
Ford was interviewed by John Jurgensen from the Wall Street Journal, who inquired whether he had taken any precautions to safeguard his image for future scenarios where studios could produce movies using digitally created versions of renowned actors at any age, as seen in the latest Indiana Jones film where a de-aged version of Ford was used in a flashback sequence.
In response, Ford commented: “Artificial intelligence isn’t necessary to take my soul; you can do it for small change by having good ideas and talent, like Troy Baker demonstrated in his outstanding portrayal of Indiana Jones in the latest game developed by MachineGames.” This game adaptation, launched in December, has garnered positive reviews (take a look at ours), with Baker’s performance being particularly commended.
Ford expressed to WSJ that he feels a sense of freedom only when he’s engaged in work. In the past month, video game analysts have suggested that AI could accelerate game development. However, those who are against the use of AI in gaming remain vocal, as shown by the public backlash when The Finals employed AI-generated voices for their in-game commentators.
Currently, Xbox is generating a lot of buzz due to gamers’ discontent over exclusives moving to the PlayStation 5. For instance, Indian Jones and the Great Circle has confirmed its release on the PS5 sometime early this year. Recently, well-established exclusive series like Forza Horizon 5 and Age of Empires have been rumored to be coming to the competing console. There’s a possibility that we might learn about more Xbox games in the upcoming PlayStation State of Play broadcast next week.
