Halo On PS5: “We Want To Bring Players Back Together,” Microsoft Says About Remake

This year, the popular Halo series will be available on PlayStation consoles for the very first time with the launch of Halo: Combat Evolved. According to executive producer Damon Conn, Microsoft hopes this move will “bring players back together.”

Some people haven’t had a chance to play Halo – perhaps they’ve always used PlayStation, switched gaming systems later in life, or simply never got around to it. We’re aiming to reconnect players and bring everyone back into the Halo universe,” Conn told GamesRadar.

Max Szlagor, the creative director, emphasized that Halo is most enjoyable with a thriving and active player base.

According to Szlagor, bringing Halo: Combat Evolved to PS5 is intended to help the Halo community grow, reach new players, and strengthen its connections.

We’re committed to respecting Halo’s history on PlayStation and are excited to build on the Halo universe, which is a big responsibility we take very seriously,” Conn explained. “We understand the importance of this and aren’t approaching it casually.

Bringing Halo to PlayStation 5 could be very profitable for Microsoft. They’ve already made significant revenue by releasing games on the platform – Forza Horizon 5 has been their biggest success on PS5 so far.

Halo: Campaign Evolved is a refreshed version of the original Halo game from 2001, but it won’t have online multiplayer. It’s expected to launch later this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox, and PC, and will include new story missions that take place before the first game, local co-op play, updated weapons, improved graphics and sound, and other enhancements.

More Halo games are currently being made, and for the first time, they’ll also be available on PlayStation. This move aligns with statements from Xbox president Sarah Bond, who believes limiting games to a single platform is an outdated approach for most players.

Xbox fans, mark your calendars! On January 22nd, there’s a Developer Direct showcase coming with fresh details and updates on upcoming games like the new Fable and Forza Horizon 6.
