As a seasoned film enthusiast with a hearty dose of nostalgia for Hallmark Channel’s festive offerings, I find the recent changes at Hallmark+ to be a delightful surprise! With my DVR perpetually filled during the holiday season, it’s refreshing to know that I can now stream these heartwarming movies the very next day on Hallmark+.
Starting early next year, Hallmark+, which launched just three months ago, will be making significant adjustments to its streaming service. Initially, it was planned to offer distinct content from Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery premieres, but this approach is set to evolve in the upcoming year.
Beginning in 2025, all newly produced Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery original movies will become available for streaming the following day on Hallmark+. Twelve new titles were added on December 17th, with an additional 24 set to premiere on December 20th.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that being a Hallmark member grants me access to more than 40 heartwarming original holiday movies, including every festive release of 2024 from their linear networks. It’s also worth noting that they currently have an arrangement with Peacock, allowing the streaming of “Countdown to Christmas” movies for three days following their television premiere. However, it seems that the movie “Trading Up Christmas,” airing on Dec. 19, may not be available on the app quite immediately.
Initially, back in July, I was informed by Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive Vice President of Programming at Hallmark Media, that the “Countdown to Christmas” would continue to be a unique, linear viewing experience, distinct from the content available on the app. However, things have shifted since then, and several movies from this year’s release are now accessible on the Hallmark app itself.
Over the past few months, there have been significant shifts in Hallmark Media. In November, they initially planned for “The Way Home” to only be available on their app during Season 3, instead of being broadcasted on the regular TV network. But after considering audience opinions, they’ve decided to return it to the network. The next day, you can stream it on Hallmark+.
17th December marked the release of 12 fresh holiday movies on Hallmark+: “Chasing the Star’s Guidance”, “The Holiday Adventure”, “Santa, Speak Up!”, “Uninvited Christmas Visitors”, “Golden Ring Celebration”, “Reason for the Festive Cheer”, “All I Wish for Christmas”, “Jingle Bell Dash”, “Candy Canes Galore”, “Secret Christmas Princess”, “Christmas Scouting Expedition”, and “Debbie Macomber’s Merry Mrs. Miracle”.
Beginning Friday, Dec. 20, the following 24 new movies will be available to streamL
