Supergiant Games together with Nintendo have announced that the much-anticipated game “Hades II” is set to launch on PC, Nintendo Switch, and potential Switch 2 devices on September 25, 2025. Since 2024, the game has been available in early access on PC, with this upcoming release marking its completion following the July 2025 update – the last scheduled early access update for “Hades II”.
In Hades II, you step into the shoes of the everlasting Princess of the Underworld, engaging in combat against Cronus, the Titan of Time. Your character interacts and socializes with deities and other immortal beings from ancient Greek mythology.
To celebrate the news, Supergiant unveiled a 2D animated version 1.0 launch trailer, crafted by The Line Art Team.
Just like its predecessor, Hades II is expected to be a timed exclusive for Nintendo Switch consoles, versions 1 and 2. However, the duration of this exclusivity period hasn’t been disclosed yet. The announcement trailer hinted at improved performance on Switch 2, with a focus on achieving a 120fps frame rate on compatible 1080p TVs, while it will run smoothly at 1080p/60fps in handheld mode for Switch 2 users.
Primarily, it’s worth mentioning that the announced launch is exclusive to the digital versions of Hades II for PC and Nintendo Switch (or Switch 2) as of now. However, those eagerly anticipating a physical copy can look forward to its availability starting from November 20, 2025.
The game titled ‘Hades II’ is now accessible in its early release phase for PC users. It is scheduled to be released on the Nintendo Switch and the anticipated Switch 2 on September 25, 2025.
