Guy Fieri’s “Tournament of Champions” will debut its sixth season on March 2.
The popular show on Food Network is set to premiere at 8 PM Eastern Time, both on the traditional cable channel and through streaming on Max.
In the sixth season of “Tournament of Champions,” tension rises and feelings run deep as chefs encounter demanding tasks assigned by the Randomizer, meet unfamiliar opponents, and their culinary skills are tested to the max as each round becomes increasingly intense in this high-stakes competition. For the first time, all four previous winners of the series will step aside from cooking for unique roles on set. Over the course of eight weeks and 31 grueling one-on-one battles, one exceptional chef will emerge victorious, earning the title of champion and taking home the prestigious “Tournament of Champions” belt, along with a $150,000 cash reward.
Starting from Season 6, the “Tournament of Champions” will have a qualifier round on February 16th. This event will see 16 chefs fighting for just 8 spots in the main tournament bracket. By doing so, it opens up room for an additional 4 new chefs to challenge the returning 24 competitors. On February 23rd at 10 p.m., we’ll witness Guy Fieri, Justin Warner, and Season 3 victor Tiffani Faison unveiling the entire bracket for this year’s tournament in “Tournament of Champions VI: The Bracket Unveiling.
Currently, the confirmed competitors for Season 6 are chefs Karen Akunowicz, Kaleena Bliss, Sara Bradley, Chris Cosentino, Rocco DiSpirito, Tobias Dorzon, Amanda Freitag, Stephanie Izard, Kevin Lee, Antonia Lofaso, Tim Love, Shota Nakajima, Nini Nguyen, Michael Reed, Britt Rescigno, Joe Sasto, Chris Scott, Adam Sobel, Dale Talde, Casey Thompson, Jet Tila, Fabio Viviani, Lee Anne Wong, and Claudette Zepeda.
Previous winners of “Tournament of Champions,” including Maneet Chauhan (Seasons 2 & 5), Mei Lin (Season 4) and Brooke Williamson (Season 1), will be joining the panel of judges alongside regular judges Scott Conant, Cat Cora, Susan Feniger, Alex Guarnaschelli, Mary Sue Milliken, Charlie Palmer, Wolfgang Puck, Marcus Samuelsson, Nancy Silverton, Martha Stewart, Michael Symon, Ming Tsai, Jonathan Waxman and Andrew Zimmern.
In the “Tournament of Champions,” Hunter Fieri takes on the role of interviewing the triumphant chefs behind the scenes, while Faison steps in as the sideline reporter alongside Justin Warner. Meanwhile, Simon Majumdar assumes the position of correspondent for the judges.
When it comes to ‘TOC’, you can expect constant improvement, making the rivalry more challenging and unforeseeable, as Guy Fieri mentioned. Since all four previous champions are not participating in this round, the competition is wide open! Therefore, don’t underestimate the qualifiers or anyone else because this year, anyone has a real shot at winning the title!”
“With ‘TOC’, you can be certain we’re always raising the stakes, creating an even more difficult and unpredictable competition. As all four past champions have stepped down for this round, it’s anyone’s tournament! So watch out for the qualifiers and others; this year, there’s a genuine opportunity for any contestant to secure the title!
The ‘Tournament of Champions’ consistently ranks as one of Food Network’s most popular shows, attracting over 16 million viewers last season who were captivated by the thrilling competition. Betsy Ayala, Warner Bros. Discovery head of food content, shared that with more contestant slots available in ‘Tournament of Champions: The Qualifiers,’ we can anticipate a wider variety of surprising confrontations and possible upsets. The bar has been set high for season six, promising an exciting experience for both returning viewers and new ones.
As a movie buff, I can’t wait to share that “Tournament of Champions” is an exciting production brought to us by the joint efforts of Fieri’s Knuckle Sandwich Productions and Lando Entertainment, airing on the Food Network.
