Gun

A man from Canada, who was carrying a toy-like weapon made from a plastic box, found himself in trouble when the authorities confiscated it. This happened after he reportedly pointed this fake firearm at a gas station and made threatening gestures.

On the morning of Tuesday, May 12, authorities in Kingston, Ontario, Canada received reports about a man brandishing an object that appeared to be a white handgun at a gas station.

As reported by the police, the man pointed what appeared to be a firearm towards the glass facade of the gas station, as well as several objects on the premises.

As soon as the police showed up, the individual had already vanished. However, they managed to find him close by and discovered the real story behind the “weapon” (or firearm).

Man arrested after plastic container gun deemed to be “imitation firearm”

It wasn’t long before they figured out that the weapon was fashioned from some kind of plastic packaging, like what you’d find on a food or drink container.

Upon examination, it was discovered that the 27-year-old was subject to a release order, prohibiting him from owning any real or fake guns, according to the Criminal Code.

In the end, the man got taken into custody; however, it’s claimed that during this time, he attacked an officer by spitting at them directly in the face.

Initially, he faced accusations for threatening behavior, physical assault against an officer maintaining peace, and disobeying the stipulations of his release order. Later, he was brought to the police station after these charges were officially filed against him.

On multiple occasions, innocent-looking replicas have led to unwanted consequences. For instance, in the year 2024, a student in Missouri faced suspension due to crafting a gun-like structure from Dr Pepper cans at home and subsequently sharing a picture of it on Snapchat.

After filing a lawsuit, the boy and his mother aim to expunge his school record and secure admission into prestigious institutions of higher learning.
