In a recent preview, we see Missy has grown up in the upcoming season of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. CBS has announced its 2024-2025 TV lineup, and the show – currently the network’s most-watched comedy – will be returning. While the first season focused heavily on connections to Young Sheldon, season 2 will shift its focus to the future, especially Georgie’s path to becoming a successful tire business owner.
Georgie is pursuing his dreams, and Mandy is rebuilding her career as a weather reporter. They’re both doing well, especially considering how things began on Young Sheldon. But what really makes Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage compelling are the people around them – the McAllister and Cooper families.
A new preview for the upcoming third episode of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, titled “A Will and a Dead Man’s Wife,” features Reagan Revord returning as George and Mary’s daughter. The clip, shared on the Young Sheldon YouTube channel, shows a noticeably older-looking Revord in a serious phone call with Georgie about their mother. You can watch the preview here:
Missy appeared in several episodes of season 2 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, and the show’s creators quickly recognized how crucial she was to Georgie’s storyline. They had planned for her to have an even larger role in the series following the Young Sheldon finale, as there were still many aspects of her character they wanted to explore. As established in The Big Bang Theory, Georgie often took care of Missy during this period, particularly when she was going through a rebellious phase.
Since the original sitcom didn’t reveal much about Missy’s teenage years, the new spinoff, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, has a lot of freedom to develop her character. George’s death in Young Sheldon was hard on everyone, but especially on Missy, as she was very close to her father. The show could potentially bring back Lance Barber to feature in a storyline focused on Missy, similar to how Georgie was highlighted in the first season.
The next episode of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage (season 2, episode 3) will focus on Mary trying to date again after her husband passed away. While the episode won’t center on Missy, she’ll still play a role, as she’s the only Cooper child still living with her mother. Hopefully, future episodes will delve deeper into Missy’s life a year after her father’s death.
