The last episode of the Seattle medical drama left viewers on a cliffhanger. Jo Wilson was facing heart failure while preparing for an emergency C-section to deliver her twins, and Richard Webber received a prostate cancer diagnosis. The episode also featured plenty of romantic complications. Actress Kim Raver recently shared her reaction to reading the latest scripts with US Weekly.

I recently received a couple of scripts that were surprisingly dramatic and reminiscent of Grey’s Anatomy – in the best way possible! It’s a bit chaotic, but I absolutely love it.

As a big fan of Grey’s Anatomy, I’m really intrigued by what’s going on with Kim Raver’s character, Teddy Altman. Her separation from Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) is clearly still causing drama, and honestly, it sounds like she’s right in the middle of something big – she seemed genuinely excited when talking about it, which definitely has me wondering what’s next!

It’s great to read through the script with everyone. We’re all dressed casually – some in scrubs, some in regular clothes – and we experience the story alongside the characters. When big reveals happen, it’s genuinely surprising for us too, and we react just like the audience would, looking at each other in disbelief.

Here Are My Theories On What Could Get ‘Messy’

The January 8th episode of the show, titled “Skyfall,” will finally reveal what happens to Jo and her babies with Atticus Lincoln (Chris Carmack). Camilla Luddington has hinted that this episode is even more emotionally difficult to watch than the last one. If anything were to happen to Jo or either of the twins, many fans, including myself, would likely stop watching the series.

I think the upcoming episodes will definitely feature drama in the doctors’ personal lives. We saw Nora break up with Owen in the last episode, and Owen and Teddy always have a complicated history. Honestly, I’m hoping they don’t rekindle their relationship.

My apologies to Niko Terho’s Lucas Adams—and maybe forget about the Skywalker comparisons, I think ‘McBroody’ fits better—but I’m really starting to root for Simone Griffith (Alexis Floyd) and Wes Bryant (Trevor Jackson) to get together.

Kim Raver shared that she will be directing an episode focusing on Meredith Grey and Nick Marsh (played by Ellen Pompeo and Scott Speedman). Although they’ve become a strong couple on Grey’s Anatomy, I suspect they might be involved in a major plot twist next season.

I believe Richard Webber will be alright, as his situation doesn’t seem immediately life-threatening. This storyline coincides with James Pickens Jr.’s announcement that he’s now cancer-free after early detection of his prostate cancer. He’s been a strong voice for regular screenings, especially for Black men, and I expect the show will use this to emphasize the importance of early detection in saving lives.
