Gretchen Rossi Returning for ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ Season 19 (EXCLUSIVE)

Following the successful and critically acclaimed 18th season that wrapped up in November on Bravo, “The Real Housewives of Orange County” is set to welcome back Gretchen Rossi as a friend of the cast in its upcoming 19th season. Filming for this new season commenced this week, with all original cast members returning except Alexis Bellino who was previously a friend.

In Season 4 of “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” which initially launched Bravo’s “Real Housewives” franchise, Rossi became a cast member. When they started filming her debut season, Rossi was betrothed to Jeff Beitzel, an affluent senior man. Some cast members portrayed her as a gold digger (labeling her as someone who “went to Bass Lake!”). Unfortunately, by the time the season premiered, Beitzel had already passed away.

Not long after this, during Season 5, Rossi and Slade Smiley, formerly engaged to Jo De La Rosa from the show’s initial and second seasons, began a relationship together. This union stirred up some controversy within the cast, as Smiley was known for interjecting himself into storylines, and once more, there were doubts about the genuine nature of their relationship.

In the eighth season of the show, which turned out to be my last as a series regular, I delivered an intricate proposal to Smiley, and he accepted. Ever since then, Smiley and I have been together, celebrating our 16th anniversary just recently. We welcomed our beautiful daughter, Skylar Gray Smiley, in July 2019, but we’ve yet to tie the knot.

After parting ways with the series during its eighth season due to a growing sense among viewers that my narratives had lost their authenticity and become overly staged, I’ve continued to make appearances within the Bravo universe. For instance, I graced the screens as a guest in Season 12 of “The Real Housewives of Orange County.” Additionally, I was part of the cast for the Morocco season of Peacock’s “Ultimate Girls Trip,” filmed in January 2023. Unfortunately, this particular installment has vanished from public view due to Caroline Manzo’s lawsuit against Bravo and NBCUniversal in January 2024, which accused her castmate Brandi Glanville of sexual harassment and assault. As a result, my performance in that show remains unseen. However, later this year, I’m set to make a comeback on “The Real Housewives of Orange County.

Besides Tamra Judge, who frequently had disagreements with Rossi during their time on the show, Rossi will be joining the returning cast members Shannon Storms Beador, Heather Dubrow, Jennifer Pedranti, Katie Ginella, Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson for Season 19. This means that Rossi will appear alongside these individuals in the upcoming season of the show.

This season, only Bellino will not be rejoining us. Originally a full-time cast member, she appeared as a “friend” and adversary of Beador during Season 18. However, this season, she wasn’t asked to return. Throughout Season 18, Bellino managed to annoy just about everyone, including her close ally Judge. In the end, it was determined that Bellino would no longer be part of the cast.
